Immediately. Our real-time system allows faster transactions and lets you to see exactly how much money is available. This excludes Point of Sale Signature Transactions, in which the full amount isn’t withdrawn until 1-3 days later.

You are welcome to log into Online Banking to view pending transactions in your account history. They just won’t have a letter code next to them (ED, AW, etc.). Please note, certain transactions will display a different amount at settlement, and deposits placed on hold will be unavailable until the hold expires.

When you use your card and enter your PIN, that’s a PIN Transaction.

A Signature Transaction doesn’t require a PIN, whether you’re swiping it in person or making purchases over the telephone or internet.

Some Signature Transactions place an initial charge, or pledge, on your card, but the full amount isn’t withdrawn from your account until 1-3 days later, at settlement. For example, a gas station might run a $1.00 charge to confirm your card’s validity, but the final cost of the gas isn’t debited from your account until a a day or two later.

Some pledges go away without actually debiting the account. If you want to report an unfamiliar or incorrect transaction as fraud, we must wait until the money is actually taken from your account. Even if multiple pledges show up, all for the same transaction, there might only be one final debit.

Feel free to withdraw up to $405.00 per day from any of our ATMs, and use your Debit Card to pay up to $1,000.00 at Point of Sale (any non-ATM transaction) in one day. Need to raise the limit? Call at 1-800-344-2274.

If you receive a call from a stranger, or someone posing as a bank representative, asking you about either your bank account or your Debit Card purchases, be careful. When Falcon contacts you, they will refer to an incident number, say they are from “Risk Management representing First Northern Bank and Trust”,  and only ask you to confirm transactions as fraudulent or not.

They will not ask for your checking account number or social security number! If anyone calls asking for personal information, particularly if they do not say the name of the bank, do not tell them anything!

Planning a trip? Kindly alert us in advance by calling 1-800-344-2274 or submitting the Debit Card Travel Notification Form before you leave. This way, we can alert the Fraud Center so they don’t block your card.
